Dutch language courses in the Netherlands and Belgium

Are you already living in the Netherlands or Belgium, hearing Dutch around you every day? It’s never too late to learn the language! Our courses are focused on Taiwanese nationals in the Netherlands and Belgium, but you can also join if you live in another country. New courses start in February, May, August/September and November. Our teachers all have lived in Taiwan and are familiar with the culture and language, which gives them the understanding of particular difficulties for Mandarin speakers to learn the Dutch language.

Online beginner courses

No matter where you live, you can join Dutch class with Taiwanese classmates. Teaching is in small groups of 4 to 6 students, each course is 10 classes (1 class per week, each class 2 hours). Our teachers are native Dutch, and also speak Chinese and/or English.

More advanced online courses

Are you not a beginner? DUTCH APPROACH also offers higher level courses, currently up to CEFR* level B1. Please check CEFR levels for an understanding of these levels and our courses. If you have any questions, you can contact us through info@dutch-approach.nl or add our LINE with ID: dutch-taipei.

Amsterdam / The Hague / Eindhoven

Currently we have no physical classes in the Netherlands and Belgium. If you live in/near Amsterdam, The Hague or Eindhoven, you can register as a group. In that case we can discuss on-site classes with our local teachers, you can contact us through info@dutch-approach.nl.

Teaching method

In our ‘Beginner’ courses towards level A1 (CEFR*), we use the textbook Start.nl part 1. In our ‘Elementary’ courses (from A1 to A2) we use the textbook Start.nl part 2. This method is for people who want to learn Dutch quickly in a communicative and interactive way. The website and textbook are equally important, each chapter starts with ‘preparation’ on the website. After the preparation on the interactive website, students can put their new knowledge into practice in class. In every chapter there is also attention for Dutch culture.

In our ‘Intermediate’ courses (from A2 to B1) we use the textbook Nederlands in actie, in the ‘Upper Intermediate’ courses (from B1 to B2) the textbook Nederlands op niveau. Homework for all courses is approximately 2 to 3 hours a week (20 to 30 minutes per day). Classes are confirmed after the minimum number of students have paid the tuition fee**.

Our teachers are all Dutch natives, with in-class and online teaching experience. The teachers live or have lived in Taiwan and are familiar with culture and language, which gives them the understanding of particular difficulties for Mandarin speakers to learn the Dutch language. The language of instruction is Chinese and/or English.
